Springs Bath House School of Massage Therapy

Springs Bath House School of Massage Therapy

The mission...

To teach and train a small select group with the necessary Anatomy, Physiology, Pathologies, Specific Injuries, Business Management & Ethics as well as Swedish, Deep Tissue modalities of massage so that each of the graduating students will have proficient skills to be a knowledgeable bodyworker/ Certified Massage Therapist.

Information...

In addition to being trained in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, our students will also be exposed to a variety of other modalities of massage so that they may then choose which, if any, area stimulates their interest enough to continue with advanced training. These other modalities may include, but may not be limited to, Neuromuscular, Watsu, Hot Stone, Sports, Energy Work, Reflexology, Shiatsu and Chair Massage. The Springs Bath House School of Massage Therapy will also pass on some in-house spa specialties such as the mango salt glow, seaweed body masque, and even teach you how to give an aloe-herbal body wrap. Students may also attend our workshops at a discounted rate as well as soak in our hot mineral spring fed pool as a bonus.

The Basic 650 Hour program starts the first week of September and continues through the end of May. Classes are held two consecutive days per week, starting at 8 or 9 am and finishing by 6 pm with an occasional week off. From the beginning class until graduation, as homework, the students must give a minimum of two hours of massage each week and receive one hour of treatment from one of the other students or from a CMT. One of the wonderful parts of attending massage school is the amount of bodywork we receive. In school, each week, the students will each receive at least two hours of massage therapy.

Integrated into the last ten weeks of our basic school is an advanced Neuromuscular program lasting ten weeks. Neuromuscular Therapy is an advanced modality of massage that treats the trigger points that cause chronic pain. The students seeking certification in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy will continue after graduation by completing 50 hours of Clinical Massage Therapy in an approved supervised setting and then “testing out” on the instructor.

This is an excellent school that can help you create a great career. One of the ways you can determine the quality of a massage school is to talk with a graduate or student of that school. For a list of our graduates and their phone numbers, ask Molly.
